I for once spend days searching on the internet on How to quit your job and travel the world things started. There was no article or a single video that didn’t cross my sight. I always dreamed of quitting my teaching job and go for a long vacation and explore myself.
I quit my teaching job and started working online as a graphic designer which was a huge step towards my main goal to quit my job and travel the world, as it helps me work remotely so that I could be able to cover my expenses.
If there is something you truly desire then, believe me, doing that thing or following one’s passion is the greatest accomplishment of your life. Here I will guide you to the path and tell you from my experience what things would help you to get you the window seat of a plane and you’ll be saying goodbye to your old life.
First thing first, are you ready?
A lot of people are afraid to get out of their comfort zone and take the risk to leave everything behind and follow their dreams. You could have a long list of why not to do this like
What would I tell my family?
How do I do this?
I’ll do it after my retirement.
How am I going to travel alone?
I CAN’T DO THAT
These are more than excuses rather than reasons and you’ll find plenty more. There are a lot of people who have done this before you and there will be so many who will do it afterward. The only thing that they have is the will to take the risk and live. When I was planning all this, there is this one question that keeps on ringing me
AM I REALLY ALIVE?
STEP 1:RESEARCH
When you think you’re ready to take the risk, next lies the solutions to your problems. You’re not going on a world tour tomorrow, take some time and do your research. You could join Facebook groups, explore on Pinterest, and most importantly read some travel blogs. By doing this you will create a map of your own that helps you remove the fog of doubts from your way.

STEP2: MAKE A BUDGET
Let’s be clear only you know what you can afford and how much you are willing to sacrifice for your comfort. Some people can live easily in 40$ daily which includes everything travel, food, lodging EVERYTHING.
That’s why you should devise a budget and stick to it, if you think some countries are a burden to your wallet, then if you can you should let them go. There are plenty of cheap countries that suit your budget.

STEP 4: MEANS OF TRAVELING
Once you decided where to start, look for the cheap flights from london as your main goal is to travel and not comfort. Or you can choose different airport according to your covenience. If you choose luxury then you won’t be able to travel much. Secondly, there are a lot of countries that provide visas on arrival but some countries demand your return ticket as they want to know how much you’re staying there. Also keep an eye for the Cheap flights discounts. You can use local travel agent with 5-sar reviews for your travel bookings.

STEP 5: HOW MUCH DO I CARRY
This is more of a personal choice some people prefer backpacks and some are too attached to their suitcases. It all depends on what’s your travel destination is. If you’re more of a trek guy then a backpack would be a much better option.
But if your priority is city travel and most of your stays are in hotels then large suitcases won’t be a problem. Remember, what you have is everything you own in the world so pack accordingly. I personally like to pack simple yet complete. Keep in mind one thing that can you have to carry what you pack!

STEP 6: START PACKING
When you think about what should I pack then you’ll spend days paralyzed about how could I pack for a world tour, let me make it simple for you
Sort your clothes that serve different purposes
You have to start wearing same clothes over and over again
Buy things on the go
You can buy anything on your way like toiletries, cosmetics, clothes, etc so focus on expensive items like shoes, jackets that could drain your budget.

STEP 7: LET GO OF YOUR STUFF
Start selling things that could help you earn some extra cash. It’s hard to let things go but if you get attached to material goods then you have to sacrifice some other things on your way to travel. List your stuff on eBay and who knows that extra cash might come in handy. You can also rent your house or give some important stuff to friends and family for safekeeping.
STEP 8: PLANNING FOR THE JOURNEY
Well, here we are when things might get going. Your lifelong dream can finally have a clear picture. Whatever you plan for a long-term trip or a short one, make sure that you live and when you come back, you pack a lot of memories, not regrets. If you like somewhere, make sure to stay a little longer and don’t ever be in a rush. Remember you cannot enjoy everything.
